FOUNDER.
Joanne Hanna is the founder of Aurecx, driven by a deep passion for precious metals, sustainability, and empowering people to understand the true value of what they own.
She established Aurecx to create a more transparent and ethical way for Australians to sell gold, silver, and platinum. Her vision was simple: to replace uncertainty with honesty, education, and fair market valuations, while supporting a sustainable circular economy.
Joanne's journey into precious metals began after a career in finance and banking. In the years leading up to the Global Financial Crisis, she stepped away from the corporate world and moved to Sydney, where she immersed herself in the fine jewellery and precious metals industry.
When the GFC hit, she began helping individuals facing financial hardship by purchasing unwanted precious metals and showing them how recycling existing resources could provide immediate financial relief, without taking on additional debt.
What began as a small, people-focused initiative evolved into the foundation of Aurecx.
Joanne brings both professional expertise and lived experience into her work. Her approach to business is grounded in integrity, compassion, and responsibility, ensuring every client feels informed, respected, and confident throughout the process.
